OSHAWA 鈥?A police dog successfully tracked a suspect after a thief raided an Oshawa jewelry store on Tuesday, stealing a large quantity of jewelry.Durham police were called to a theft in progress at roughly 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 21 at a jewelry store in the Oshawa Centre mall.According to officers, a man entered the store, grabbed several items and left without paying. He fled on foot to a nearby residential area. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW With a description of the suspect, officers called in police dog Flex and his handler to search the area. The K9 team found a suspect hiding in some dense vegetation near the scene. The man was arrested and most of the stolen stanley becher jewelry was recovered.
