In collaboration with Prince George s County officers, Laurel Police arrested a 35-year-old man suspected of committingan armed carjacking Sunday in Laurel.Police said the carjacking occurred in the 14600 block of Baltimore Avenue. A 35-year-old Gaithersburgman, Nelson Javier Acevedo, was charged with the carjacking.Police said Acevedo showed a handgu stanley website n and demanded his victim s keys, fleeing in the victim s vehicle. Surveill stanley water bottle ance footage from a nearby business showed the carjacking and Acevedo walking through a nearby parking lot. Police were also able to track the victim s phone since it had been left inside the car.Tracking stanley cups the phone led police to a location in Hyattsville, where the victim s car was found. Prince George s County police were informed of the investigation and aided in the arrest of Acevedo. Laurel Police took the carjacking victim to Hyattsville where a positive identification of Acevedo was made.
